Georgia Power Company Headquarters Newnan, GA

The project is the renovation and addition to the existing Georgia Power campus at 291 Greenville Street, Newnan, GA 30263. There are five buildings located on the site. Three of these will receive renovations/modifications, one will be demolished. The Operating Headquarters Building will see extensive alterations. The interior layout will be altered drastically. The existing structure is steel frame with columns, beams and joists with metal decking. Some of the existing CMU will be altered to create new openings. Refer to the architectural demolition plan and structural narrative for these conditions. The addition to the office area will be steel posts and beams with bar joists and metal decking for the roofing. The new construction will generally match the existing construction methodology to allow better meshing of new and old. Some of the existing exterior wall will be removed and replaced with storefront which will also cover the new addition. The Transmission Maintenance Building will receive minor interior renovations. The office space and employee areas will be reconfigured and will receive cosmetic updates. The Fleet Services Garage will only receive cosmetic updates. The existing Customer Service building will be demolished to allow for the reconfiguration and expansion of the current lay down yard and other site amenities.
