The project will include the demolition of the existing Marco Island Tax Collector’s office and the construction of a new +/- 2,800 square foot office building on the same site. Collier County seeks to select a General Contractor (GC) to provide a full set of construction services to deliver a turn-key project. Background The intent of the project is to reconstruct the existing Tax Collector office on the existing site after the existing building sustained flood damage during Hurricane Ian. This contract consists of the turn-key construction in coordination with the previously selected design firm, PK Studios Inc. and their subconsultants. The project will also have Jacobs staff that will assist the County with project management. This project will seek insurance and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reimbursements. All contractual process and procedures shall be FEMA compliant. The GC shall work closely with the design teams, and authorities having jurisdiction on building permitting efforts to facilitate the quickest start of the site’s physical development and subsequent construction. Collier County fully expects the GC to work with the design and project management team and employ any creative methods necessary to move the project forward to an on-time and successful completion. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to have a full understanding of the site’s current condition. It is strongly recommended bidders visit the site during the pre-bid conference to verify quantities for take-offs and evaluate level of effort necessary to complete repairs. Particular attention must be given to coordinating the involvement of the multiple stakeholder groups involved, ensuring the best value for the taxpayers of Collier County, and insulating the project from the expected continuing volatility of the construction materials and labor market. The GC will be responsible for developing a detailed schedule for the construction of the project that falls within the expected number of days listed in the solicitation. The chosen GC must be proactive and provide professional project management support throughout the project. This shall include at a minimum project tracking and progress reports, detailed project accounting, experienced full-time supervision, and detailed document management. The Project will be constructed as outlined herein.
