This project consists of renovating the existing Aiken Public Library and the north wing. The project will be split into two phases in order to keep the Library open throughout the project. Phase 1 consists of the north wing renovation and upper floor of the library, with Phase 2 being the renovation of the ground floor of the library. Work scopes on this project include but are not limited to, extensive demolition of interior millwork, lighting, electrical, plumbing, and walls, as well as site work including new ADA sidewalks and ramps, grading around the building, parking lot striping, and handicap spaces, and landscaping. Interior new work includes concrete and masonry for the new elevator shaft, brickwork to seal window openings, new structural steel and framing around the elevator shaft to reinforce existing flooring, specialty millwork and casework, countertops, heavy timber awning, EIFS and metal flashing repairs, hollow metal doors, and frames, wood doors, finish hardware, automatic ADA openers, magnetic hardware, aluminum storefront, aluminum windows, glass and glazing, metal stud framing, drywall, fire-rated walls, cement plastering, gyp board and acoustic tile ceilings, carpet tiles, LVT resilient flooring, interior and exterior painting, wood staining, signage, toilet, and bath accessories, elevator with 3 stops, fire suppression, plumbing, rooftop and attic space HVAC work, electrical and low voltage, alarm, data and communications, and specialty lighting.
All drawings have been issued in color to identify new work and phasing. Please be sure to make note of this, if the drawings are not in color the legend will not make sense.
